TOEIC APPS

Hi all!

A friend has just told me about some useful TOEIC apps that can help you prepare for the test.

- For lower groups: TOEIC listening (image with headphones) lets you choose the number of questions and listening sections you want to practice and if you click the lightbulb on the top right hand corner you can see the transcripts of the audio files you've just listened to.

- For higher groups: English Radio gives you access to listening material of all sorts. You've got radio, television and online programs. You even have a forums for different official English exams.

- TOEIC test training from Pierre Bonet: This app has over 100 questions with answers.

- TOEIC practice test from Kepham Education: This app has questions you can work on online but it also allows you to download a complete test so that you can do it offline. Besides, it has a link to a TOEIC Vocabulary learning app that has more than 600 key words that appear on the exam.

IELTS HW

Dear IELTS students,

Please click on the link at the bottom of this post and do Writing task 1 for Monday. Remember to write it out on a piece of paper as the IELTS exam is a paper-based exam. Don't forget that you should save the last three minutes for proofreading (work backwards in order to really single out every sentence).
Once the 20 minutes are up, please count the number of words you've written and write it down at the bottom of your page.

Sentence transformation exercises

Good morning students!

Following are some links to some sentence transformation exercises. They're great for paraphrasing practice and grammar and vocabulary revision.

Key word transformation exercises 1-28
On this site you have up to 28 different key word transformation exercises with hints and online correction. Scroll down the page and click on the different links to do them all.

Sentence transformation exercise 2
You only have 15 sentences to practice with but you also have links to other English material (grammar, vocabulary, phrasal verbs, pronunciation, TOEFL® , etc.). There is a link to TOEIC®  exercises which are for a previous version of the exam. Although they are great for grammar and vocabulary practice, please remember that the exam you will be facing does not have this section.

Cheers!
